In promoting a message of service, the Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission: A Division of the Arkansas Department of Education encouraged and challenged the youth of Arkansas to demonstrate what they can do to keep Dr. King's dream alive and relevant in its 2021 King Holiday: Day of Impact Essay Contest. This experience served to increase students' knowledge about Dr. King, and enhance their language and writing skills, creativity, self-esteem, and character.
It is with great pleasure that we inform you that 10th grade student, Rebeka Russell, participated in the 2021 MLK Holiday Statewide Essay Contest and her essay scored in the top 10 of the high school category.
Lisa Bono was awarded the Arkansas Education Association's Education Support Professional of the Year award for 2020. She was nominated by the Benton Education Association because of her tireless work to help students and educators in the Benton School District.

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Award is faculty selected. Our selection is based on the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.
