Today, our 2025 Boys and Girls State Delegates met with past attendees and leaders of the American Legion and American Auxiliary to prepare for Boys and Girls State later this month. Our seniors gave valuable advice on how to get the most out of their experience and members of our community spoke on the importance of our civic responsibility. BIG NEWS! Benton High School’s own Nam Le has been selected for NYO2, one of Carnegie Hall’s prestigious national youth ensembles! Nam, a talented flutist, earned his spot through a highly competitive national audition process and will join other elite young musicians (ages 14–16) from across the U.S. for an intensive summer training program at Purchase College, State University of New York. Even more exciting—in summer 2025, Nam and the NYO2 ensemble will make their European debut as a resident orchestra at the Edinburgh International Festival in Scotland! 🇬🇧 We’re so proud of you, Nam! Your hard work and talent are taking you places—literally!

Nam Le, a talented flutist from Benton High School’s band, has earned a coveted spot in NYO2, one of Carnegie Hall’s three prestigious national youth ensembles. NYO2 is an intensive summer training program for exceptional young musicians ages 14–16. Members are selected through a highly competitive national audition process, drawing talented students from across the United States. Participating musicians have the opportunity to work closely with top players from leading American orchestras and conservatories during a residency at Purchase College, State University of New York. In summer 2025, the ensemble will gather from July 12 to August 6 and make its European debut, performing as one of the resident orchestras at the Edinburgh International Festival. Due to inclement weather this winter, our last day of school will be Thursday, May 29, 2025.
