AP Scores

This past spring during the month of May, 399 BHS students took a combined total of 782 AP exams. Of those 399 students, 276 passed their exams with a score of 3 or higher for a total of 521 AP exams passed by BHS students with a score of 3 or higher.

Advanced Placement courses are college level courses taught by BHS teachers. The rigor and expectations of these courses exceeds those of Honors courses. At the end of the year, AP students sit for a four hour AP exam for each AP course taken during the year. Students who pass the exams with a 3, 4, or 5 are eligible to receive college credit for those courses. Most colleges and universities in our country accept this credit. Many of our students enter their first year of college with enough hours to count as a second semester freshman or even a sophomore. These courses provide academic challenges while in high school, increase our students’ readiness for college courses, and allow scholarship funds to stretch further.

College Board recently announced the 2025 AP Scholar recipients. These students are recognized at three levels for outstanding college-level achievement for multiple exams. These levels are:

  • AP Scholar

    • Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.

  • AP Scholar with Honor

    • Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

  • AP Scholar with Distinction

    • Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken,

      and

scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
