đ§ Students did some thinking and discussing at the whiteboards about what they know about division. Students were encouraged to think of vocabulary words, give examples, etc. with their team. đĄ Teams then rotated around to read other teams ideas when they were finished! đ
đ€ Mrs. Antle's students also had the opportunity to build some connections with a fun, interactive class-building strategy from Kagan called rotating lines! đ

Students are creating lunarcrete, concrete made from earth and synthetic moon sediment, by adding additives to synthetic lunar regolith. đ§Ș They will test lunarcreteâs strength and build a prototype launch pad, brick wall, or simulated 3-D printed structures for future Artemis moon missions. đïž
Students will use their knowledge of chemical reactions and the engineering design process as they prepare to build on the Moon! đđŹ

Our mathematicians have been using Building Thinking Classrooms + thin slicing to practice and strengthen their multiplication strategies. Weâre focusing on thinking through problems, explaining our strategies, and learning from one another! đ§ âš
We also made multiplication fluency a little more fun with Square Capture! Students are practicing their facts while working to capture as many squares as they can. âđŠ

Mrs. Simpsonâs 5th grade scientists are investigating this question by using flashlights and solar toys to explore light energy! Students are observing how light provides energy and using evidence from their investigation to help explain why plants need light to grow. đŹđ§
