𧟠Math is everywhere â letâs use it!
Parents, try this tonight: Ask your child to help measure ingredients for dinner or calculate the change at the store. Little moments like this help build real-world math skills and confidence! âš
Ask your child what they are currently learning about in math, and share that with us in the comments too!

đ Red Folders đ
Reminder that red folders should be coming back and forth to school each day. Need another one? Let your child's teacher and librarian know. These are an important part of our home-to-school communication!
Inside today, youâll find important log-in information your child will need for school. Throughout the year, the red folder will be the place to check for:
â
Important notes from school
â
Reading logs
â
Letters and updates for families
Please help your child remember to bring their red folder back to SCHOOL EVERY DAYâthink of it as their take-home folder for everything youâll need to know!

Today is a great reminder to take care of our minds just as much as we take care of our bodies. Middle school can be a lot sometimes, but remember you're never alone.
If you or a friend are having a tough day, it's so important to talk about it. Reach out to a trusted adultâlike a teacher, a coach, or a school counselor. Being kind to yourself and others makes a huge difference!

Today, our 5th graders rolled up their sleeves and dissected owl pellets! This exciting lab helped reinforce the Conservation of Matter â the idea that matter cannot be created or destroyed. Students were able to see firsthand that any material an owl doesnât use for energy is transformed into something else.
As they uncovered bones and fur, students also began exploring new science concepts like consumers, predators, and carnivores.
Science is always more memorable when you can dig right into it! đ§€âš #WeAreBenton

Last week, our 6th grade students explored how temperature affects particle movement. We learned that the hotter something is, the more energy its particles have â and they proved it with a hands-on experiment!
Students added dye to both hot and cold water and observed how quickly it spread in each. The results were clear â particles in hot water move much faster!
It was an exciting way for them to see science happen right before their eyes! đ§Șđ
