đ€ Does Public Speaking Make You Nervous? đŹ
If you said YES â youâre definitely not alone!
A 2023 survey found that 60% of adults have never received formal training in public speaking, and 75% report having a fear of it. Thatâs a big number!
The truth is, almost every career requires some form of public speaking â whether itâs presenting ideas, leading meetings, or simply communicating clearly with others.
Thatâs why the EAST program at Benton Middle School is intentionally teaching students this important skill. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, students are building confidence and learning how to communicate effectively in front of others.
By introducing public speaking at the middle school level, weâre helping reduce fear, increase confidence, and give our students a real advantage as they prepare for high school, college, and the workforce.
We are proud of our students for stepping up and finding their voice! đđŸ #WeAreBenton

đŠ·âš February is Childrenâs Dental Health Month! âšđŠ·
Fifth, sixth, and seventh graders can take charge of their smiles by brushing twice a day, flossing daily, and choosing water instead of sugary drinks. Wearing a mouthguard during sports, limiting candy and soda, and keeping up with regular dental checkups all help keep teeth healthy and strong.
A healthy smile builds confidence and supports overall healthâso letâs encourage our students to show off those great habits and keep smiling all month long! đđ #WeAreBenton

This week, weâre challenging our 5th, 6th, and 7th graders to spread kindness in big and small ways! Hold the door for someone, include a classmate, write a kind note, thank a teacher or staff member, or simply offer a smile.
Small acts can make a huge difference, and kindness is contagious! Letâs fill our school with positivity, compassion, and respect all week longâbecause every kind act counts. đ«đ #WeAreBenton
