Benton Middle School, Benton Junior High, and Benton High School are officially recognized as Project ADAM Heart Safe Schools
This special recognition is awarded to schools that are prepared to handle sudden cardiac emergencies on campus. To earn this status, each of our schools:
*Ensured AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) are accessible on campus
*Trained a team of staff members in CPR and AED use
*Conducted emergency drills to practice their response
*Educated students about CPR and cardiac arrest awareness
Project ADAM was founded in memory of Adam Lemel, a 17-year-old who tragically lost his life to sudden cardiac arrest while playing basketball. This program continues to promote lifesaving measures in schools across the nation.
We’re grateful to be a part of this important initiative to keep our students and staff safe!
