October is here, and we have a busy month ahead at Howard Perrin! 🍂 From celebrating some of the amazing people who make HP special to conferences, Fall Fest, and our district’s first Fall Break, there is plenty happening this month. Here are a few things our Panther families will want to know!
🐾 Celebrating the People Who Make HP the Place to Be!
October gives us several opportunities to celebrate some very special members of our HP family!
October is National Principals Month, and we are so thankful for our amazing principal, Mrs. Keene! Her leadership, guidance, listening ear, encouragement, and the way she continually cheers on our students and staff to keep learning and growing make a difference at HP every day.
On October 2, we celebrate Custodian Appreciation Day! A huge thank you goes to Mrs. Melissa, Mr. Josh, Mr. Trevor, and Mr. Marty for everything they do to take care of our school. So much of their work happens behind the scenes, and we appreciate the many ways they help make HP a great place to learn and grow.
On October 6, we celebrate National Instructional Facilitator Day and our wonderful IF, Mrs. Ackley! She works hard to make sure our teachers have the resources, support, and tools they need to be the best instructors they can be for our students. We are so thankful for her knowledge, coaching, encouragement, and the many ways she supports teaching and learning throughout our school.
We'll also celebrate World Occupational Therapy Day on October 27 and give a special shout-out to our OT, Mrs. Sollars, and our OT Assistant, Mrs. Ellison. We are thankful for the care and support they provide our students each day.
These amazing staff members help make HP the place to be!
📚 Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held October 15 from 3:30–7:00 p.m. Conference letters are being sent home this week with additional information. We look forward to this opportunity to connect with our families and talk about each student's learning and growth during the first nine weeks!
🍂 Our First Fall Break!
This year brings something new to the Benton School District—Fall Break! Students will not attend school Friday, October 16; Monday, October 19; or Tuesday, October 20. Tuesday is a teacher workday, so there will be no school for students.
We hope our Panther families enjoy the extra time together! Students return Wednesday, October 21.
🎃 Fall Fest
One of our favorite fall traditions is right around the corner! Fall Fest will be held October 22 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Northside Church of Christ. We hope our HP families will join us for a fun evening together. Watch for more information as we get closer!
❤️ Red Ribbon Week
We will celebrate Red Ribbon Week October 26–30 with special dress-up days throughout the week. The themes have already been shared with families, and we'll post another reminder soon so everyone can join in the fun!
🏕️ And Don't Forget...
Scouting Night is October 8 at Howard Perrin! More information, including the time, will be shared soon.
October is going to be a full and exciting month at HP. Be sure to save our HP Happenings graphic for a quick look at the month ahead, and keep an eye on our Facebook page and website for reminders and additional details.
