It's time!! ⏰ Kindergarten Registration is THIS Thursday, April 11, and Friday, April 12 📓🖍✂️ If your child turns five on or before August 1, 2024, they are eligible for kindergarten at the Benton School District! You can start the process by registering online starting NOW! We encourage you to register soon to secure your child’s spot at their zoned school! Each elementary will have a representative to verify all paperwork has been completed. Bring your future kindergarteners because we have a fun activity planned for them! 🐾

Madeline Landecker, a fourth grader at Caldwell Elementary, stumbled upon an unusual discovery during a stroll to her family's barn—a rare pink grasshopper! Madeline took her rare find to school to show her classmates and teachers. She named her Millie. This story has been picked up by local news, national news, and the New York Post.

The Benton School Board approved the 2024-2025 school calendar. The Benton School District will bank minutes in the upcoming school year. We have recently implemented an alternative calendar where we are currently banking minutes to make up for recent snow days. Although we have yet to determine the exact school start and end times, they will likely be similar to the current schedule. However, we will announce those times once we have them established

Parents, The Benton School Board voted today to switch to an alternate calendar that allows us to utilize instructional minutes for the remainder of the school year to offset the inclement weather. We will attend school on February 19th-President's Day, March 29th-Good Friday, and Friday, May 24th. In addition, secondary campuses are adjusting their dismissal times which may result in bus routes being delayed by 10 minutes. Elementary dismissal times remain unchanged so all car riders will be dismissed at normal time. This change is effective immediately and will begin on Monday, February 5th.

If you are not receiving the district's text messages and would like to, text "START" to 98900. To receive messages, even after opting in, you must be a contact for your student in e-school. That means the back-to-school paperwork you filled out at the beginning of the year must have your number listed as a contact for the student. If you have opted out of receiving messages from a different district, chances are we use the same software, and you have also opted out of our communication.

Benton Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2023, in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 16, 2023.

NWEA testing at Caldwell begins this week. We want all of our Caldwell Champions to do their best!

Benton Public Schools will be closed from December 21st - to January 3rd for Christmas Break.

Due to the LEARNS Act, we can no longer count AMI (Alternative Methods of Instruction) days toward the state-required 178 student instruction days. Therefore, if school is canceled due to a weather event, the day(s) will be added to the end of the school year. Decisions regarding school closings will most likely be made the day of.

The Benton School District will be closed November 20-24 for Thanksgiving Break. We look forward to seeing our Panthers on Monday, November 27th.

On Sunday, November 5th, Daylight Savings Time ends. Don't forget to fall back and adjust your clocks before you go to bed on Saturday night so you can get that extra hour of sleep!
