Benton Panther Families,
We are closely monitoring the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) internationally as well as here in the US and are working with the Arkansas Department of Heath and the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to monitor the situation in our state. There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Benton School District at this time.
The Benton School District is working with ADH and DESE to identify those that may have traveled from an affected country and we will continue to collaborate with them in the event a student or staff member should be identified.
At this time, we are continuing to take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. While we are routinely cleaning and disinfecting the school, we would like to emphasize the following precautions:
ï· Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
ï· Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
ï· Avoid close contact with people who are sick
ï· Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces
ï· Stay at home away from others if you are sick
ï· Cover mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing; then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands
ï· Do not bring your student to school or come to work at school if you have cold or flu-like
symptoms (elevated temperature, fever, cough, shortness of breath).
Student and staff safety are a priority in Benton Schools. This is a dynamic situation, and we will continue to keep you updated.
