DAR GOOD CITIZEN:

April 11, 2022

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution continued to sanction both a male and female essay winner from each state. The ASDAR winners will each receive a $250 scholarship, a state winner’s Good Citizen pin, and certificate. Both winning seniors’ essay packets were submitted to the NSDAR division vice chair.

The 2021-2022 essay theme was again Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving It. However, the essay focus question was “How do the qualities of a good citizen (dependability, service, leadership and patriotism) help support our nation?”

Sixty-six essays were submitted for judging on the chapter level across Arkansas. One hundred twenty-one accredited schools were contacted by ASDAR members and chapters. Of that number, 90 students were recognized by their schools as DAR Good Citizens. The 2021-2022 ASDAR female Good Citizen winner is Erin Brasher from Benton. She is a senior at Benton High School. Erin is sponsored by the Provincia de la Sal Chapter in Benton, AR.
