Empowering Students to Make a Difference
At Mountain View Middle School, students in the EAST (Education Accelerated by Service and Technology) Initiative are already hard at work using technology, creativity, and problem-solving skills to make a positive impact on our school and community.
Under the leadership of Mrs. Shoffner, EAST students are exploring real-world challenges and developing innovative solutions through collaboration, research, and service learning. EAST provides students with opportunities to become leaders while gaining hands-on experience with technology tools, project design, communication, and teamwork.
What Is EAST?
The EAST Initiative empowers students to:
Identify needs within their school and community
Research and develop solutions to real-world problems
Utilize cutting-edge technology and digital tools
Collaborate with peers and community partners
Present projects that create meaningful change

Some of the skills EAST students are currently developing include:

Leadership and communication
Problem-solving and innovation
Community engagement
Looking Ahead
As the school year progresses, EAST students will continue designing, developing, and implementing projects that showcase their talents while serving others. We are excited to watch these young leaders grow as they transform ideas into solutions that make a difference.
Mrs. Shoffner and the EAST students are proving that when innovation meets service, incredible things happen!
Stay tuned for future editions of EAST IN ACTION as we highlight projects, partnerships, and the impact our students are making throughout the year.
