Mrs. Brown’s class carved a pumpkin to bring their living and nonliving unit to life! Students learned that pumpkin plants grow from seeds, develop vines, and need water and nutrients to grow. 🌱
Our hands-on explorers identified colors, counted seeds, and investigated textures like hard, soft, slimy, and wet. They also compared flat and round features—so much learning packed into one pumpkin! 🧡

Our second graders brought their CKLA learning to life with their very own Greek Olympics! After exploring Greek civilization and Greek myths, students celebrated with bike races, wheelbarrow races, and relay races. 🚲🏃

Our 4th grade students have started a new unit on energy, focusing on electric currents! Today, we welcomed our guest speaker, Mrs. Koch, who helped kick off our first lesson and introduce scholars to this exciting topic. Through this experience, scholars are building their knowledge, encouraging curiosity, and making connections to real-world science. This activity supports Growth by expanding their understanding, Excellence by encouraging active learning, and Preparation by building a strong foundation for future science lessons.

We had a wonderful turnout for our Ice Cream Social, Report to the Public, and Annual Title I Meeting! Thank you to all the families who were able to attend. We loved spending time together and sharing how we’re helping our Panthers grow! ❤️🐾
Couldn’t join us? Here are a few highlights:
• **Our students are making progress!** Proficiency increased in reading, math, and science. Third-grade math proficiency rose from 26% to 47%!
• **We’re focused on continued growth.** This year’s priorities include improving academic achievement, strengthening reading and science growth, and reducing major behavior referrals.
• **Title I supports our Panthers.** Funding helps provide reading aides, intervention support, instructional resources, and family learning events.
• **Families are essential partners.** Read together daily, make attendance a priority, and ask your child’s teacher for one skill to practice at home.

Pumpkin Investigation in Kindergarten! 🔎🎃
Mrs. Turner’s kindergarten class wrapped up their CKLA Knowledge unit on the 5 Senses with a fun, hands-on pumpkin investigation! 👀👂👃🖐️👅
Our little scientists used all five sense to explore a pumpkin. We used describing words to tell about the pumpkin’s inside and outside, made predictions about how many seeds we thought were inside, and counted the lines on our pumpkin. We observed, discussed, made predictions, and counted as we investigated like real scientists!
And, of course, we ended our investigation with a delicious pumpkin treat! 😋🧡

Mrs. Garner’s students are putting a Kagan strategy called Rally Coach to work! Students spun the wheel with their coach and traveled around the room answering questions. They used their CKLA text to help find evidence and support their answers.
The coach’s job? Give helpful tips, encouragement, and praise to their partner as they worked through each question. Then, they switched roles so everyone had a chance to be the learner AND the coach! 💬⭐
We love seeing students learning together, supporting one another, and building confidence along the way!

Last week, our students celebrated International Dot Day with a special focus on having the courage to try, create, and make their mark! We talked about how sometimes making your mark starts with simply being brave enough to make that first “dot.”
Our students also spent time building their reading stamina and discovering that reading can happen in so many different ways! From reading while riding our bikes to playing literacy games and creating at our art cart, our library stations give students opportunities to practice important skills while developing a love of reading.
We are working to help our students become confident, independent readers who can choose books, stay engaged, try new things, and enjoy learning together.
