Ice Cream Social

Learning, Partnership, and Sundaes: Join Angie Grant on October 6

Families are an important part of student success at Angie Grant Elementary. On Tuesday, October 6, join us for an evening of helpful information, teacher conversations, and ice cream sundaes!

Third Grade Parent Night will help third-grade families understand reading expectations for promotion, how we monitor progress, and the support available when students need extra help. Families will learn practical ways to support reading at home and have an opportunity to ask questions. Understanding expectations early helps families and teachers work together throughout the year.

All Angie Grant families are invited to our Report to the Public and Annual Title I Meeting. We will share student achievement, explain how Title I supports learning, and discuss our school improvement priorities.

There is progress to celebrate! From 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, third-grade math proficiency increased from 26% to 47%, and third-grade literacy proficiency increased from 28% to 38%. We will explain what these results mean and how we plan to keep students moving forward.

Strengthening parent involvement is part of our school improvement plan. Families will receive useful reading and math tips, learn about school resources, and share ideas about the support they need. Your questions and feedback help us strengthen the connection between home and school.

After the report, enjoy building ice cream sundaes and visiting with teachers. Our PTO will also lead “Build Your Family Sundae,” a creative activity celebrating what makes each family special. Families will name their own ice cream shop, create a scoop for each family member, and add “sprinkles” representing favorite traditions, memories, and activities. A cherry on top will share something they love about their family!

Families will also have an opportunity to complete our Title I Needs Survey, helping guide future family activities and resources.

Come learn, connect, and celebrate with us. Your presence matters—and we look forward to an evening that brings our school family together!
