What does Panther PRIDE look like during a school day? At Angie Grant Elementary, our Behavior Matrix gives students clear examples they can practice in the classroom, hallway, cafeteria, playground, and other shared spaces.
PRIDE stands for Problem Solver, Respectful, I am Kind, Deeply Responsible, and Entirely Honest. These are more than words on a poster. In the hallway, students show respect by walking and keeping their hands and feet to themselves. On the playground, they show kindness by inviting others to join. In the cafeteria, they show responsibility by cleaning their area before leaving.
The matrix also helps us teach what to do when something is difficult. Students can keep trying, ask for help, report a problem to an adult, and take ownership of their actions. Staff use the same expectations across the school so students know what Panther PRIDE looks like wherever they are.
Families can help by asking, “How did you show Panther PRIDE today?” We are proud to work together to help our students solve problems, care for others, and do the right thing.
