Tricia Moffett is currently in her 17th year of teaching and her 12th year as the Director of Bands for Benton High School. Mrs. Moffett began her career as the Director of Bands for Central Arkansas Christian Schools and spent 2 years at Little Rock Parkview HS. She received her Bachelor’s degree in instrumental music education from Harding University and her Master of music education from the University of North Texas. Mrs. Moffett directs the BHS Marching Band, BHS Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and teaches AP Music Theory. She is a member of the Phi Beta Mu National Band Directors Fraternity and has been a National Board certified teacher since 2012.
Michael Hoover graduated with his bachelor of music education degree from Henderson State University in 2013 and his master of music education degree from Kent State University in 2016. He currently teaches the Benton Junior High Jazz Band, 8th Grade Band, 9th Grade Band, and assists teaching the BHS Marching Band and the Benton High School Wind Ensemble.
Sherry Nye is currently in her 21st year of teaching as Middle School Band Director at Benton Public Schools. Mrs. Nye is a past president of the Region Five Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association, a member of the Arkansas Women’s Band Directors Association, Phi Betu Mu National Band Director’s fraternity, has been the recipient of the 2006-2007 Phi Beta Mu Outstanding Young Band Director Award for the state of Arkansas, and has been recognized by the Saline County Business and Professional Women’s Organization as a Change Maker. Over the years, Mrs. Nye has been a guest conductor at JH All-Region clinics, band camp, instructed colorguard clinics, and served as colorguard adjudicator at marching competitions.
Stephanie Williams has been with Benton Middle School since 2009 teaching band, music appreciation and music technology. She graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music Education, primary instrument clarinet, and Arkansas State University with a Master's in Special Education. She is a National Board Teacher since 2018.
Ashton Kidder earned a bachelor's degree from Henderson State University in December 2010. He currently serves as the Percussion Coordinator and Assistant to the Junior and Senior High School Bands, as well as the Director of the Benton Indoor Percussion Program. Mr. Kidder has been teaching percussion for 14 years, 12 being with the Benton Band program. He is also a founding board member of the Arkansas Marching Arts Association, where he serves as the Percussion Coordinator. Throughout his career, he has taught at a variety of camps and given clinics around Arkansas and Texas. He also serves as the Percussion Arranger for the Showband of Arkansas at Henderson State University.
Candis Sunday earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith in 2014. She was an active participant performing on clarinet in the UAFS Symphonic Band, Athletic Band, and Chamber Ensembles. After earning her undergraduate degree she accepted the position as Band Director at the East Poinsett County School district in Lepanto, Arkansas. She worked with the East Poinsett County band program from 2014-2017 where she taught general music classes and beginning/high school band. She earned her Master of Music Education degree from Arkansas State University in 2019 and worked as a Graduate Assistant for the A-State Bands. She also taught at Arkansas Governor’s School in Conway, AR as an instrumental teacher. Currently she teaches band and music at Benton Middle School.

The corporation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3).

The Benton Band program is committed to excellence at all levels of instruction. The program currently serves over 500 students in grades 6-12 offering instruction in concert band, jazz band, small instrumental ensembles, individual musicianship, musical orchestra and competitive marching band. Benton Bands regularly receive superior rating in both concert band competitions and competitive marching band. The goal of the Benton Band program is to instill in students a life-long love of music and music making.
