I have been a registered nurse for 39+ years. I graduated from UAMS with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, while also receiving my Nurse Practitioner Certification allowing me to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse. In 2019, I took the test to become a Nationally Board Certified School Nurse. I have done nursing in many different areas during my career, from hospital floor care, Cardiac step-down, Diabetes education, teaching, working with physicians and lastly as a school nurse at Howard Perrin Elementary( My most favorite).
I am married with three children, including a set of boy/girl twins, all of whom graduated from Benton High School. My husband and I grew up in Benton and graduated from Benton. Yes, we both went to Howard Perrin!
I am making the transition to work at the district level to best serve the needs of our students, staff and community during this pandemic. I will be serving as the point of contact person for COVID-19 and Health Services Coordinator.
