The Arkansas Department of Education announced that 175 schools qualified for funds through the Arkansas School Recognition Program.  Awards are based on information from the 2016-2017 school year.  This program provides financial awards to the top 10 percent of public schools that achieve high student performance on the state required assessment in Grades 3-10 and the top 10 percent of public schools that achieve high student academic growth, which includes high school graduation rates. We were notified late last year for the 2016-2017 school year.

The Benton School District had three schools that were awarded funds. BHS was awarded $53,194.68; BMS was awarded $39,357.36; and Howard Perrin was awarded $31,600.80.  State Representatives Lanny Fite and Kim Hammer along with Benton Chamber of Commerce CEO Gary James presented the checks. We appreciate our teachers, students, administrators, faculty and staff for their hard work and dedication to our students.  Congratulations and thank you to BHS, BMS, and Perrin who are leading the way for our students and their future in education!
