Benton Panther Family,
Unfortunately, today we had to make a very difficult decision that ended our football season. Earlier this week, we had 16 players that had to be quarantined due to contract tracing. Today, we had one player test positive resulting in 17 more players being quarantined. We have 33 players quarantined, including all of our offensive linemen.
This has been one of the toughest situations I have ever dealt with as a coach. I hate it for our players, staff and our great community. It really hurts me for our Seniors that have worked so hard to get to this point. I know some will question this decision, but we all need to remember the most important thing is the safety of our players. I will always keep that as a top priority as the Head Football Coach at Benton High School.
We will regroup and come back from this stronger than ever once this pandemic has passed. I want to say thank-you to everyone who supports Benton Panther Football and, especially, thank-you to all of our seniors.
