The mission of the Alternative Learning Center is to provide an excellent alternative to the traditional middle school, junior high, and high school experience.  We provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment in which students may grow academically and develop social skills and positive attitudes to the point that they can graduate and become productive, positive, confident, cooperative, able, active and contributing members of our community.

To Fulfill Our Mission:

The Alternative Learning Center has created an academically and behaviorally supportive climate for highly at-risk students. The teachers and staff have high expectations for students.  Positive relationships exist between students and staff.  Staff, students, and parents are treated with respect and dignity.  The facility is safe and managed as a caring and violence-free environment.

The Alternative Learning Center takes advantage of the small class size to create interactive learning environments that tap into student interests, strengths, and talents.  In addition to academics, our program takes into consideration the social, emotional, and physical needs of the student and identifies any services the student and their family will need in order to meet the student's goals to be successful at school.

The Alternative Learning Center strives to accommodate the varied students' needs and offers flexibility to motivate students, involves parents and the community, and includes multiple components such as life skills, career preparation, mentoring, drug/alcohol counseling, behavior management, physical education, career/vocational education, computer-assisted instruction, anger management, crisis intervention, conflict mediation, and character education.
