Dr. Mike Skelton, Superintendent
 Dr. Skelton Dr. Mike Skelton, Superintendent, officially began his duties on July 1, 2016. He is entering his twenty-fourth (24) year in education. Dr. Skelton worked in the West Memphis SD for nine (9) years serving as a teacher, coach, and bus driver. He stepped into administration in the Pocahontas SD serving as an assistant principal for three (3) years. He worked for four (4) years as an assistant principal/principal while in the Paragould SD, and then he spent seven (7) years working in the Jonesboro SD as a principal/assistant superintendent prior to coming to work in the Benton School District this year. Dr. Skelton has earned his bachelor’s, master’s, specialist, and doctorate degrees from Arkansas State University. He is also an adjunct professor for William Woods University and Arkansas State University. 
   
 
Karla Neathery, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
Neathery

Karla Neathery, Interim Superintendent, has been in education for twenty-four (24) years. Mrs. Neathery was an elementary classroom teacher for seven (7) years. She spent five (5) years as an elementary assistant principal and elementary principal before becoming an assistant superintendent of curriculum, a position she has held for twelve (12) years. She also served as interim superintendent during the 2015-2016 school year. She has a bachelor’s degree in education from Ouachita Baptist University, a master’s degree in educational administration from Henderson State University, and an educational specialist’s degree in administration from Henderson State University.

   
 
Lita Gattis, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Administrative Services

Gattis
Lita Gattis, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Administrative Services, has been in education for 31 years. Mrs. Gattis came to Benton in 1983 where she has been a science, physical education, and health teacher, and a basketball and track coach. After a short stay at home to raise her two daughters, Mrs. Gattis returned to Benton High School in 1994 as a counselor. She became an assistant principal in the fall of 2008 and was named principal in the fall of 2013 where she served for three years. She was selected for her current position earlier this year and began her duties on July 1, 2016. Mrs. Gattis attended the University of Arkansas and Henderson State University, where she received her BSE in 1982. She received her MSE in Counseling in 1993. In 2007, she returned to Henderson State University and received certifications in building-level administration and district-level administration, respectively.
   
 
Angela Dischinger, Assistant Superintendent of CTE and Academic Services

Angie Dischinger, Assistant Superintendent of CTE and Academic Support Services for the Benton School District, has been in education eighteen (18) years. She completed her undergraduate degree at Henderson State University, teaching credential from California State University San Bernardino, and her master’s degree in education: school administration from the Azusa Pacific University. Mrs. Dischinger has served in various educational roles that include: middle school teacher, ASB director, high school assistant principal, alternative high school principal, and high school principal. This is Mrs. Dischinger’s first year as Assistant Superintendent of CTE and Academic Support Services for the Benton School District.

   
 
Laura Baber, Chief Financial Officer
Laura Baber, Chief Financial Officer, has been in education for twenty-nine (29) years. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Arkansas Tech University and a master’s degree in elementary administration from Henderson State University. Ms. Baber spent her first eight (8) years in education as a kindergarten and first grade teacher. The next eleven years, she was a Title 1 facilitator before moving into administration as an assistant principal, a position she held for two (2) years. She was the principal of Angie Grant Elementary for seven (7) years and graduated from the Arkansas Master Principal program in May, 2015. She began her position as CFO in July, 2015.
   
 
Kevin Chastain, Plant Manager
Chastain Kevin Chastain, Plant Manager, has been with the Benton School District for twelve years. Before beginning his current position, he spent a number of years working in the manufacturing and construction industry. He performed custom fabrications as owner/operator of C&C Plastics, Inc., for 11 years. Kevin is a lifelong resident of Benton, a graduate of Benton High School, and a graduate of Southern Technical College.
   
 
Sherri Fite, Technology Director
Fite Sherri Fite is the technology director for the district. She completed her twenty-third year in education, and all of those years have been with the Benton School District. After working in the accounting field, she started her career in education as a business teacher at Benton High School and has been the technology director for ten years. Mrs. Fite has a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a master of education degree, both from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
   
 
Angela McWhorter, Special Education Director

Angela McWhorter, Director of Special Education, has been in education for eleven (11) years. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and her graduate degree from Northeastern State University. Mrs. McWhorter has served in various roles that include: speech-language pathologist, response-to-intervention coordinator, mental health coordinator, and curriculum/program administrator of special education services. This year is Mrs. McWhorter's second year as the Director of Special Education for the Benton School District.

   
 
Scott Neathery, Athletic Director
Neathery Scott Neathery was named athletic director of the Benton School District effective July 1, 2016. He has been in education for 21 years and began teaching/coaching in 1995 at Bryant School District. During his career, he has served as a physical education/health teacher, girls’ soccer coach, offensive coordinator, transportation and athletic director, and head football coach at Sheridan and Benton. He earned a bachelor of science degree in secondary education from Ouachita Baptist University where he received a scholarship to play football.
   
 
Martha Nehus, Child Nutrition Services Director
Nehus Martha Nehus is a registered, licensed dietitian who has been the child nutrition coordinator for the past 12 years. She earned a BSE and MSE from the University of Central Arkansas and completed her dietetic internship at UAMS. She taught in Florida for one year before returning to Arkansas to pursue a career in the nutrition field. Prior to coming to the Benton School District, she was a clinical dietitian on the oncology units at UAMS, an instructor and clinical coordinator for the dietetic internship at UCA, and the Director of Nutrition Services at Arkansas Health Center.
   
 
Danny Revis, Transportation Director
Revis Danny Revis, transportation director for the Benton School District, has worked in education for 18 years as a special education teacher and transportation director. He worked at Rivendell Behavioral Health as a counselor and teacher before entering public education. He is a graduate of Benton High School. He holds a BA in Sociology from Arkansas-Little Rock and an MEd from Henderson State University.
